POIT Lesson 6 Peripherals

Notes for School

Peripherals are devices used for computer input and output and can include -

  • Mouse (input) - send signals that send cursor in directions
  • Keyboard (input) - input device that send a signal of keys and key combinations for actions
  • Monitor (output) - displays images and pixels to represent what is happening
  • Printer (output) - puts images and words onto paper and brings it into real world
  • USB/Flashdrive (input) - evolved from floppy disk to CD to USB to SSD Drives
Scanners - reads a document and image and sends it to computer
Multifunction - scan scan, print, and copy

Tower Cases can have expansion spots and bays
